For all residents living within Rush County, the RCSWMD provides disposal of hazardous materials, tires, electronics, styrofoam and sharps containers. The Tox-Away Center is located at 217 S. Smiley Ave, Rushville, IN.
The hours of operation are Saturday, 8:00am-12:00pm (noon), the very first Saturday of the Month.
Hazardous Materials include household chemicals, garage chemicals, rechargeable batteries, and fluorescent light bulbs. (We do not accept latex, water-based paint. Paint can be disposed of in the trash if it is dried and in solid form.)

A permanent drop box is located at CVS, 101 W. 1st St., Rushville. The box is available during regular business hours.
Empty medication containers can be recycled.
