You Are Invited 2-9-12Clean Green Rush invites anyone interested in keeping Rush County CLEAN and GREEN to join in the conversation and offer your ideas on environmental projects.  Your participation in those projects is especially encouraged.   We'll meet in the Rushville Elks Dining Room located at 223 E. 3rd Street on Thursday, February 9, 6:30 p.m.  The dining room is not serving on Thursday; however it is WINGS night in the bar so food and beverage are available.  Easy access can be made using the back door opposite the city parking lot.  Call 765-938-1342 if you have questions; otherwise show up.

New Collection in 2012 - Freezers, Refrigerators, and A/C

CGR - recycle appliancesRush County residents may bring freezers, refrigerators, air conditioning units, and other products containing refrigerant gasses to the Clean Green Rush Tox-Away Center for recycling. Since this is a new service, there is no charge; however it is only available from 8 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month. No longer will residents have to wait until a special

spring or fall collection of proper disposal.

Clean Green Rush continues its partnership with the City of Rushville in operating the Tox-Away Center at Smiley Avenue. Street Department employee, Bill Emerson is licensed to remove and recycle the refrigerants in an environmentally approved process.

Still Taking Electronics for Recycling

Another partner for helping to keep Rush County Clean and Green is Shares, Inc. Their truck stops each month and collects

electronics (anything with a circuit board) dropped off at the Tox-Away Center on the first Saturday morning of every month. Residents will still be asked to pay $5 for a monitor; $10 for a television 27” and under; and $20 for a television over 27”; all other electronics will be accepted at no cost.

Keeping Rush County Clean and Green is more than one-day collection events, classroom programs and recycling plastic, paper, metal and glass. It is a lifestyle of caring about the place we live enough to do the little things daily that protect the environment and maintain the legacy of 205,000 acres of prime cropland and the communities it helps to support
